Dreaming of College Life
For a long time, I had dreamed of attending college. After finishing my school exams, I thought college would be full of freedom and fun. My older brother told me that college is more about making friends and going on picnics than studying hard. That sounded much better than school, where teachers were rigorous, and the rules felt boring. I was excited to start this life and leave my school days behind.

A Nervous Start
On my first day, I was a bit worried about "ragging." That is when older students play tricks on the new ones. As soon as I arrived, a group of seniors stopped us. They made us do silly things like singing funny songs and acting like monkeys. At first, I felt a little embarrassed, but I decided to take it as a joke. We eventually managed to get away from them and headed toward our classrooms to start our day.
Inside the Classroom
When we entered the lecture room, we acted like school kids and stood up when the teacher walked in. The teacher just smiled because college students usually stay seated. Instead of teaching a lesson, he spent the time chatting and joking with us. It started as a relaxing experience, but soon things became confusing. We waited for other teachers to arrive, but no one showed up. There was nobody to guide us, and we didn't know where to go next.
Feeling Disappointed
By the end of the day, I felt disappointed. I saw that many older students didn't even have pens or books. They only talked about movies and fashion instead of their studies. I started to miss school because, even though it was strict, we actually learned something there. I realized that a life with only play and no work is actually uninteresting. I returned home feeling that my college dream was less impressive than I had pictured.
